I’ve been complaining a lot lately about the inordinate amount of rain that Central Oregon has had this spring. After all, we’re supposed to be located on the dry side of the Cascades. But lately there’s been no dry side.
A recent trip over the Santiam Pass to Portland reminded me that I’m not the only one affected by all the precip.  As I was driving, I couldn’t help but notice the North Santiam River, which is screamin’! Near Detroit Lake, there were also several impressive waterfalls I wish I could’ve captured on film (alas, the incessant rain and busy roadway made stopping there a tad perilous). The breathtaking sights made me appreciate all that wet stuff — at least for a few moments.
I was able to snap a few shots of the river that I hope at least give you a sense of how majestic its waters can be.
