Kudos to the City of Sisters and to Oregon Department of Transportation for keeping their promise to reopen by Memorial Day the stretch of Highway 20 that was closed for several months while the road was rebuilt (they reopened a few days ahead of schedule!).
Yes, work crews are still hard at work throughout town — adding the crosswalks, the landscaping, gaslights and wider sidewalks -– but the dramatic overall improvement is already visible (thanks, in part, to the face lifts that many storefronts have received as a result of almost $100,000 of grants awarded to local businesses by the City).
