It arrived a little bit before it we expected it, but we’re glad we were able to view Monday night’s total lunar eclipse. The last time this happened — a total lunar eclipse falling on the same day as the Winter Solstice — our ancestors weren’t even thought of yet (it was 372 years ago). So you could say it was a truly historic event. And it was definitely worth waiting up for.
With that thought in mind, here are a few photos captured from Tumalo between 11:30 and midnight on Dec. 20 (a few minutes short of the Solstice — oops!). It was awesome!
