Houzz home-improvement websiteAre you thinking about doing a little reno work on your home? If so, check out Houzz.com, a website packed with inspirational photos of remodeling and decorating projects. Billed as a “digital look book” for design ideas, it offers visitors an online resource for creating categorized portfolios of their favorite photos. With more than 90,000 images to choose from, the site has design ideas for just about everyone.
Once you create an account, you’re able to tag and organize photos into themed albums, so it’s quick and easy to check out specific “ideabooks” — expansive photo portfolios that focus on everything from bedrooms, dining rooms, kitchens and fireplaces to pools, color palettes, green design and DIY.
There’s also a question-and-answer forum, a resource list of design professionals and a search tool by major metropolitan locations (yes, Portland is included).
For the tech set, there’s also a mobile app for IPhone and IPad.
Check it out, and let me know what you think.
