Folks in and around Tumalo have a couple of out-of-the-ordinary opportunities to get into the holiday spirit this weekend.
First up is the Tumalo Country Christmas Walk along Cook Avenue on Saturday from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. (That’s Main Street to all you non-locals.) Christmas shoppers in search of unique Western-inspired, equestrian or home-grown gifts are encouraged to visit the participating local businesses: Riding In Style, Stellar Ranch, Farmer John’s Produce, The Ole Tack Room and Cowgirls Trading Post. Shop in style — via Horse Drawn Taxi – from 11-2 p.m. Barbecue will be served up on Cowgirls’ parking lot.
On Sunday from 3-5 p.m., the folks at Fly Spur Ranch (64460 Research Rd.) are hosting an afternoon of Christmas Caroling, with the help of the folks from Cowboy Carriage. Dan and Saucer (Cowboy Carriage’s stout Percheron gelding team) will guide the wagon and help spread holiday cheer throughout FlySpur’s neighborhood (off Bailey Road, behind Tumalo Feed Co). For more info, contact Therese Friedman at flyspur@flyspur.com (and be sure and tell her I said, ‘Hay!’)
